START provides specialist support, counselling and education about sexual violence and other trauma to the wider community.

START is an independent Christchurch based social service agency providing counselling for children, youth and adults who have experienced sexual violence, alongside specific support for their whānau, and education for the wider community.

START employs ACC approved counsellors and most counselling fees are funded by ACC.

Their whānau support services are also free to clients.

START's services are provided from a comfortable suburban house in Mairehau which nestles into the neighbourhood.  This relaxing healing environment is well served with car parks and a bus route.

START supports all ages, genders and ethnicities. Criteria exist for those under 18 years of age.
